Amhara Addresses the Limits of Application Launchers for Deep Work
A session requires a real desk setup, not just hidden background windows.
Traditional launchers like Raycast and Tinycast focus on opening single items and moving windows across your displays. Tinycast offers Rooms to group project windows on screen, but it only hides other applications while keeping them running in the background. A Room is constrained to windows already open on your desktop, and extra windows are merely pushed off-screen. Leaving a Room leaves your computer scattered, failing to restore your original desktop state.
Amhara takes a different path by managing your complete workspace context through Summon, its native command bar built for voice and keyboard orchestration. A Session is a custom desk configured once with your required apps, specific web pages, layout, and exact project documents. You can start a Session using Summon with your voice or hotkey, or through the menu bar, desktop window, shortcuts, and calendar events. Summon uses on-device speech processing to let you dictate commands, clear off-task apps, and open your chosen project files directly inside your primary applications without touching your mouse. If Amhara saved your desk when the Session started, ending it puts that desk back.
Focus belongs on your work, not on arranging your screen. Amhara ensures your dedicated workspace is ready the moment your scheduled hour begins. Amhara is a native macOS app with a main window and a menu bar extra. The app is currently in private beta for macOS 26 or later. Join the waitlist today at https://www.amhara.app.
